Connect Govir to your AI assistant
Plan, write and analyze your Threads from Claude, Cursor and other MCP-compatible AI assistants.
Last updated
Govir works with Claude, Cursor and other AI assistants that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Connect it and ask in plain words: "Schedule a post for tomorrow at 9:00", "Which of my posts did best last month?". The assistant works with your Govir accounts, plan and posting safeguards: it saves drafts and schedules posts, and asks you before going ahead when Govir warns about something.
You need a Govir account on the Creator plan (read your posts and stats) or Pro and above (also write drafts and schedule). In Govir, Settings → AI assistants (MCP) has these steps with Copy buttons.
The server URL is:
https://govir.app/mcp
Claude (claude.ai)
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector, name it Govir and paste the server URL.
- If Claude asks how to sign in, choose Register automatically. Then choose Add and Connect.
- Govir opens: check the access and choose Allow.
- In a chat, turn Govir on under + → Connectors.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector first in Organization settings → Connectors; then you choose Connect.
Claude Desktop and the Claude app
Connectors you add on claude.ai appear in Claude Desktop too. To add it in the desktop app, open Customize → Connectors and follow the same steps. On your phone, add Govir on the web or in Claude Desktop first; the Claude app then uses it.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user govir https://govir.app/mcp
Then run /mcp in Claude Code, choose govir and Authenticate, and choose Allow in Govir.
Cursor
Cursor connects with an API key. In Govir, open Settings → API and create a key with Read and Write access. Then add Govir to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in a project) and put your key in place of YOUR_GOVIR_API_KEY:
{
"mcpServers": {
"govir": {
"url": "https://govir.app/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_GOVIR_API_KEY" }
}
}
}
Keep the key secret like a password; you can revoke it in Settings → API anytime.
VS Code (GitHub Copilot)
Add Govir to .vscode/mcp.json in a project, or to your user mcp.json (MCP: Open User Configuration):
{
"servers": {
"govir": { "type": "http", "url": "https://govir.app/mcp" }
}
}
Choose Start above the server, sign in when VS Code asks, and choose Allow in Govir. In Copilot Chat, switch to Agent mode and turn on Govir's tools. VS Code asks before it runs a tool, unless you allow it.
Gemini CLI
Add Govir to ~/.gemini/settings.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"govir": { "httpUrl": "https://govir.app/mcp" }
}
}
Start gemini and run /mcp auth govir. Govir opens in your browser: choose Allow. Gemini CLI asks before each tool call unless you mark the server as trusted.
Other AI assistants
If your assistant supports remote MCP servers, add a server with the URL https://govir.app/mcp. When it asks you to sign in, Govir opens: check the access and choose Allow.
If your assistant can't sign in this way, create an API key in Settings → API and send it in the Authorization header as Bearer <key>. The key works with the same plan access and limits.
What to ask
- Schedule a post for tomorrow at 9:00: "…"
- Which of my posts did best in the last 30 days, and why?
- Write 5 post ideas for next week in my style, based on my best posts, and save them as drafts.
- Turn this into a 4-part thread and add it to my queue: "…"
- Add a fitting GIF to my next scheduled post.
- Quote my best post from last week with a short follow-up, and add the full story as long text.
- Compare this month with last month: views, replies and followers.
- What's scheduled this week? Spread out anything that's too close together.
Your control
- Only the workspace owner can connect an assistant, and Govir always asks first. An assistant works in the space it was connected in: on Agency, connect it from each client space you want it to see.
- Publishing right away is off unless you allow it in Settings → API; assistants save drafts and schedule posts.
- See and disconnect assistants anytime in Settings → AI assistants (MCP).
Developers can also use the Govir API.
