API Terms
Last updated
These API Terms are an agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS] ("Govir", "we", "us") about the Govir API at govir.app. They add to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which also apply. If they differ, these API Terms win for the API. [DRAFT: to be reviewed by a lawyer before launch.]
By creating an API key or using the API, you agree to these terms. If you use the API for a company, you agree for that company.
1. What the API is for
The API lets you work with your own Govir workspace from scripts and tools you choose: read your accounts, posts and analytics, and draft, schedule and publish posts on the accounts you connected. The API documentation describes what it does.
2. Your keys
- Keys belong to your workspace. Only the workspace owner can create and revoke them.
- Keep keys secret, like a password. Don't put them in public code, in a URL or in a browser app.
- Anything done with your key counts as done by you. If a key may have leaked, revoke it in Settings → API at once.
- Give a key only the access the tool needs.
3. Tools you connect
When you give a key to a tool, an automation service or an AI assistant, you choose to send it your workspace's data and let it act for you. You are responsible for choosing it, for what it does with the key and the data, and for following its terms. We don't check or support third-party tools.
4. Data from Threads
Some data you get through the API comes from Threads, a service of Meta Platforms, Inc. Govir is not affiliated with Meta or Threads. When you use it, you must also follow Meta's Platform Terms and the Threads Terms of Use, and you must make sure any tool you send it to does the same. In particular, you must not:
- sell, license or share the data with anyone who doesn't need it to serve you;
- use it to build profiles of people, for surveillance, or to decide about people's eligibility for jobs, housing, credit, insurance or similar;
- use it to train or improve AI models for anyone other than you;
- keep it longer than you need it, or after it's deleted from Threads or you're asked to delete it.
5. What you may not do
- Post spam, mislead people, or break the rules of Threads or any law.
- Get around rate limits, plan limits or our posting safeguards, for example with several keys or workspaces.
- Access other people's workspaces, test our security without our written permission, or put an unreasonable load on Govir.
- Resell the API or offer it as part of your own service to others, unless we agree in writing.
6. Limits and changes
The API has rate limits and plan limits, described in the documentation. We may change the API, its limits and these terms. We'll say so ahead of time for changes that break existing use, unless we must act at once for security or legal reasons. The version in the URL (/v1) changes for breaking changes.
7. Suspension
We may suspend or revoke keys, or limit the API for your workspace, if you break these terms, if your use puts Govir, its users or their accounts at risk, or if Meta or the law requires it. Where we can, we'll tell you first.
8. No warranty
The API is provided "as is". We don't promise it will always be available or free of errors, or that Threads will accept every post. The limits of liability in our Terms of Service apply to the API too.
