This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies govir.app uses. It is part of our Privacy Policy.
Your choice
The first time you open a public page of govir.app (the home page, features, pricing, the blog, free tools, comparisons, docs and legal pages), a banner asks about analytics and advertising cookies. You can accept, reject or choose, and change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every public page. Your choice applies wherever you are.
What happens before you choose depends on where you are. We use Google Consent Mode, which applies these defaults by your approximate location:
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland: analytics and advertising storage are denied. Google's tags set no cookies until you allow them.
- Everywhere else, for example in the United States: analytics storage is allowed, so Google Analytics may set its cookies (listed below) until you reject them; advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation stay denied unless you allow them.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal and you haven't chosen yet, we treat it as a rejection of analytics and advertising, wherever you are.
When analytics storage is denied, Google's tags may still send anonymous, cookieless signals (for example that a page was viewed), which carry no identifier that could recognise you later.
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics run only on the public pages. They never run in the Govir app, the admin panel, on sign-in pages, invitations, approval links or other pages whose address carries a code or token, and we never send them your name, email, posts or account data.

Your light or dark theme is stored in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie.

Advertising cookies (with your consent)
If we measure whether our ads bring people to govir.app, Google may set its advertising cookies (such as _gcl_*) once you allow advertising. Nothing on govir.app is personalised for you with them.
Without cookies
Product analytics in the app (PostHog) sets no cookies and counts page views by path only. Error reports (Sentry) leave out cookies, request details, email addresses and codes. See the Privacy Policy for both.
Changing or removing cookies
Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice: rejecting stops Google's tags from using cookies from then on. You can also delete cookies in your browser's settings. For how Google uses data from its tags, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
